Is The Overhead Press Foundational Lift In Your Upper Body Routine?

Well, it should be! The overhead press is one of the best exercises to build strong, and healthy shoulders. It's a full body exercise where your shoulders and arms press the weight over your head while your legs, back and core help to balance you.

In a movement with lots of overhead work, priming and prepping your muscles is crucial for optimal performance. Itís important that the stabilizing muscles are activated and ready to help stabilize the associated joints. With these areas primed and ready to work, your shoulder joints will have a better chance to stay neutral; in turn keeping the joints in the correct position.
